Welcome

Venture Upward provides curriculum and other resources to students at no out-of-pocket cost to you. Every High School student that enrolls in Venture Upward in Minnesota will receive a $1,000 Venture Reward! This reward is designed to provide funding for families to purchase technology and additional learning materials meant to enrich your student’s educational experience. Use this High School Curriculum Order Form to select your Venture-offered curriculums only. After this has been completed, order your additional resources by submitting an Additional Resources Order Form.

Some things to understand about the Venture Reward:

Half of the Venture Reward allotment is available at the beginning of each semester.
Any of your 1st semester allotment that isn’t spent will roll over to your 2nd semester allotment.

Instructions

Use this Curriculum Order Form to select the required Venture-offered curriculum. You may place one order for each of your children, and it needs to be placed before the first day of school.

Place one order per student and be sure to hit “submit” at the end of each student’s order.

Curriculum

Courses are chosen by the quarter unless otherwise specified that it takes two quarters to complete the course. VIBE uses block scheduling so you will have 4 courses at a time. We recommend at least two core courses each quarter.

Agreement(Required)

I have read and agree to the Ownership of Materials.

Ownership of Materials. I understand that I am enrolling my student in the Venture Upward program for the 2023-2024 school year. Any materials purchased using Venture Reward funding remain the property of VIBE until my student has successfully completed the entire school year in the program. If your family chooses to withdraw from the program for any reason before the end of the current school year, all items purchased with your Venture Reward funds must be returned.

I have read and agree to the Curriculum Pacing and Progress.

Curriculum Pacing and Progress. I understand that my student will be required to make weekly progress in each core course according to the pacing guide that will be provided by Venture Upward. I understand that my assigned teacher is available to address any questions, concerns, or issues that may arise. If my student is unable to complete the coursework as described in the pacing guide (due to travel, illness, family emergency, etc.), I understand it is my responsibility to notify my student’s teacher as soon as possible and make a plan for my student to catch up in their coursework. I understand that I may not have access to second semester funds if my child is not on target with pacing in his/her course(s); funding will be available once my student is caught up.

I have read and agree to the Testing Procedures.

Testing. I understand that my student is participating in the Venture Upward program as a public school student enrolled in VIBE, an online public school through the Worthington School District. As a public school student in this home-based program, I understand that my student is encouraged, but not required, to take the state MCA standardized test in person at a location that is generally located within an hour of the student’s residence.

I have read and agree to the Attendance policies.

Attendance

Attendance will be taken by the teacher of record based on content accessed by students throughout the week. If a student accesses each content area in through the week, they will receive full attendance.

Students will not be penalized for not attending if technology doesn’t work as expected. If possible, families should attempt to call or email their teacher to report their difficulty. Students will be exempted from attendance during the technology failure.

Open communication with the district is paramount. If your student is going to miss a day, please email or call the district. At that time, a determination will be made whether an absence will be recorded as excused or unexcused. Again, open communication is key.

The standing district policy is that five days in a row for a vacation will be marked as an excused absence with a parent notification and VIBE administrative approval. Anything beyond five consecutive days requires special consideration and approval.

Click on the “Send” button below. Orders will be processed on a first come, first served basis and are subject to review. Your student must be fully enrolled before your order will be processed. Online curriculum options will arrive via email. Products that include hardcopy materials will be mailed to the address listed on the order form.
