Welcome

Venture Upward provides curriculum and other resources to students at no out-of-pocket cost to you. Every student that enrolls in Venture Upward in Idaho will receive a $1200 Venture Reward ($600 for Kindergarten)! This reward is designed to provide funding for families to purchase Venture-offered curriculum, other curriculums, technology, and additional learning materials meant to enrich your student’s educational experience. You will use this Curriculum Order Form to select your Venture-offered curriculums only. After this has been completed, you will order your additional resources by submitting an Additional Resources Order Form.

Some things to understand about the Venture Reward:

Venture Reward breakdown: Kindergarteners receive a $600 Venture Reward and 1st-8th graders receive a $1,200 Venture Reward.
Half of the Venture Reward allotment is available at the beginning of each semester.
Families are required to place one Curriculum Order Form per year for each student (see additional instructions below).
We ask you to carefully consider your selections as we do ask you to commit to these curriculums for the entire year. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.
Any of your 1st semester allotment that isn’t spent will roll over to your 2nd semester allotment.

Instructions

You will use this Curriculum Order Form to select the required Venture-offered curriculum. You may place one order for each of your children, and it needs to be placed before the first day of school.

Place one order per student and be sure to hit “submit” at the end of each student’s order.

As you proceed through the Curriculum Order Form, your order total will update with each selection you make so you can track your available Venture Reward funding to be used when you fill out the Additional Resources Order Form.

Orders received after the closing date may be denied in whole or in part and may be delayed in processing.

Curriculum

All core curriculum options are for the entire school year. Your selections for the first semester will be in effect for the second semester as well. Your Venture Reward is charged for the annual cost in the first semester except for Highschool Suite and Power Homeschool, which is charged by semester.

Select courses for your student from the options shown below. For each of the four core subject areas listed, choose one curriculum of your choice to show progress. You may request your desired curriculum in the Other Resources Order Section (If you already own curriculum or are using free online curriculum, do not list them in the other resources order section). You can choose different options for different subject areas. You do not have to choose the same path or program for each one.

Venture School program
Participating in our Venture School is a fantastic way to fulfill the elective course requirement. Our Venture School is a favorite aspect of the Venture Upward program! Our Venture School is an on-site, drop-off program that allows kids to explore and learn together with other Venture students. Experienced and enthusiastic teachers engage children in interactive, hands-on classes such as world geography, art, messy science experiments, cooking, money management, Spanish, taekwondo, and music exploration.

Subscription Boxes
Subscription Boxes are kits of related materials that will be delivered monthly to your home for a total of nine months. If selected, you may choose two subscription boxes from the drop-down selection list.

eDynamic Learning Online Elective
Students in grades 6-8 may choose to take up to two elective eDynamic Learning courses at a time. The Middle School Library offers middle schoolers unique elective and career courses for students to explore a variety of professions and receive the knowledge and preparation needed to make life-shaping decisions prior to high school. They may also choose to combine the eDynamic course and Subscription Box options by selecting one eDynamic course and one Subscription Box. You can learn about the individual courses at the eDynamic website.

Agreement(Required)

I have read and agree to the Ownership of Materials.

Ownership of Materials. I understand that I am enrolling my student in the Venture Upward program for the 2022-2023 school year. Any materials purchased using Venture Reward funding remain the property of Venture Upward until my student has successfully completed the entire school year in the program. Upon completion of the school year, all materials become the personal property of my student. If my student is not able to complete the entire 2022-2023 school year in the Venture Upward program, I understand that I must return all tangible materials to the designated Venture Upward team member.

Curriculum Pacing and Progress. I understand that there are a variety of course options and learning paths to choose from for my student. I understand that I can select one of the online complete courses from the list provided.

I also understand that I can choose the Venturing Ahead Learning Path for my student. If I select the Venturing Ahead Learning Path, I understand that I am responsible to select and provide, whether through use of Venture Reward funding or some other way, adequate curriculum and instruction to allow my student to satisfactorily master the material required by the state of Idaho in the specific subject area. To show mastery of state standards, my student will be required to either complete a specified number of learning activities on IXL.com each week or complete and submit weekly assignments in their assigned workbook.

I understand that my student will be required to make weekly progress in each core course according to the pacing guide that will be provided by Venture Upward. Students enrolled in K-3rd grades will also be required to make weekly progress in the Reading Eggs program or Explode the Code workbooks. I understand that my assigned mentor/teacher is available to address any questions, concerns, or issues that may arise. If my student is unable to complete the coursework as described in the pacing guide (due to travel, illness, family emergency, etc.), I understand it is my responsibility to notify my student’s mentor/teacher as soon as possible and make a plan for my student to catch up in their coursework. I understand that I may not have access to second semester funds if my child is not on target with pacing in his/her course(s); funding will be available once my student is caught up.

Testing. I understand that my student is participating in the Venture Upward program as a public school student in an online public school. As a public school student in this home-based program, I understand that my student must complete state-required standardized testing. I agree to follow the instructions provided by the school district and Venture Upward to have my student complete the required testing.
